28, 2016 12:01 am BYRAM –Doctor Paul, Nashville recording artist and contestant on NBC’s “The Voice”, will be bringing his eclectic mix of Americana, country and folk to the Orchard Beer Garden on Saturday, July 30, followed by a show at Salt Gastropub on Aug. 6. These solo performances will showcase his unique take on traditional favorites, as well as popular original songs from his recent studio albums. Doctor Paul’s latest studio album, “The Old Home Place,” features original music by songwriters Scott James Stambaugh and Larry Mitchell, as well as unique takes on favorites by Gordon Lightfoot, Guy Clark, John Prine, Marty Robbins, and others. Doctor Paul cut his teeth as a part of the 1960-70s New Jersey music scene, playing mostly bass in a variety of popular rock, folk, and even funk bands. Occasional acoustic solo performances were a sideline back then, but after a long hiatus spent raising a family and nurturing a successful business, he got the performing bug again and has been tearing it up throughout the Southeast ever since. The Doctor’s appearance on national TV on NBC’s “The Voice” catapulted him into the national spotlight.
